Important Information: Transition to Electronic Invoicing from January 1, 2025
Starting January 1, 2025, electronic invoicing will become legally mandatory in Germany. At S+D METALS, we are embracing this change and will fully transition to standardized electronic invoice formats such as ZUGFeRD and XRechnung for the sending and receiving of invoices.
Why This Change Is Important
The legal requirement for electronic invoicing is part of the German Growth Opportunities Act (Wachstumschancengesetz) and aims to improve efficiency and sustainability in business processes. Electronic invoicing offers the following benefits:

- Reduced Error Rate: Minimizing manual entries and miscommunication.
- Sustainability: Paperless invoicing helps conserve resources.
Our Roadmap for the Transition
To ensure a smooth transition, we kindly ask all our business partners and customers to review and update their master data – especially the email address designated for e-invoice delivery.
How Does the Data Update Process Work?
- In the coming days, you will receive an email from us containing a secure link through which you can easily review and update your data.
- The tool we use for this process is called Therefore, and the link will start with www.sdmetals.therefore... and will be customized for each customer.
